“Les images qui vont suivre n'ont jamais existé” est un film de found-footage réalisé à partir de la bande annonce 35mm d'un film d'action américain TWISTER (Jan de Bont, 1996). Il renvoie à un événement d’hallucination collective autour d'une projection manquée : la séance du 20 mai 1996 au Can-View Drive-In dans le sud du Canada annulée pour risque de tornade. Les spectateurs venus ce soir-là ont pourtant construit le souvenir d’avoir assisté au film, en pleine tempête. "Les images qui vont suivre n'ont jamais existé" est une reconstitution personnelle et fragmentaire d'une projection qui n’a pas eu lieu.
The following images never happened is a found-footage short based on a 35mm traile of Jan de Bont’s action film Twister. It refers to an incident of collective hallucination of screening that never took place : the May 22, 1996 screening of the same film at the Can-View Drive-In in southern Canada, cancelled due to a tornado alert. However, according to the urban legend, the viewers actually watched the film until the crucial scene, in the middle of a storm. The director recreates in a subjective, fragmentary way, along the lines of avant-garde cinema, the memory of images never projected, never seen, ultimately never happened – and yet, eerily familiar.
